The Indiana Fever continued their West Coast Trip when they visited the Los Angeles Sparks at Crypto.com Arena last night. The Fever took an early first quarter lead and ended the first quarter with a 25-21 lead but then in the second quarter they were outscored by 11 points 27-16 and the Sparks took a 48-41 lead into the half. The Sparks offense continued to produce scoring another 34 points in the third quarter but the Fever also put up 30 points but they had already dug themselves a bit of a hole and entered the final quarter trailing 84-71. In the fourth quarter it was more of the same with the Sparks continuing to pull away and winning by a final score of 106-92. All 5 Sparks starters scored in double-figures led by Nneka Ogwumike who put up 24 points, 8 rebounds, and 5 assists, Rae Burrell put up 22 points, 3 rebounds, and 4 assists, Dearica Hamby put up 21 points, and 9 rebounds, Erica Wheeler had 12 points, 4 rebounds, and 6 assists, Ariel Atkins scored 12 points. In a losing effort 4 Fever players scored in double-figures led by Kelsey Mitchell who had 29 points, 4 rebounds, and 3 assists, Lexie Hull had 14 points, Damiris Dantas had 12 points, 4 rebounds, and 2 assists, and Tyasha Harris had 10 points, 3 rebounds, and 4 assists. The Los Angeles Sparks improved to 9-11 on the season while the Indiana Fever fell to 12-9. This was the eighth time the Fever had given up 100 points which is the second most times that has ever happened in a season in WNBA history only trailing the 2024 Dallas Wings who allowed 100 points 9 times.
